Officer of the year Rob Lennea shakes fire chief Al Kirkwood’s hand in congratulations for his 20 years of service.

The Barriere Fire Department honoured its members last Thursday, Sept. 22 with an Awards Night.  Every year the department volunteers get together and celebrate their accomplishments of the past year.

This year the department had a BBQ put together by Chris and Ashley Wohlgemunth was attended by the fire department personnel and their families.

Awards presented:

Most Improved Fireman – George Johnson

Best Attendance – Drew McMartin

Fireman of the Year – Drew McMartin

Officer of the Year – Rob Lennea

Fire Chief Al Kirkwood was presented with a memento from the crew for his 20 years in the fire department.  For 16 of the 20 years, he has been the fire chief.

Thank you so much for the fine job, Ashley and Chris.

The Barriere Fire Department has regular meetings every Thursday night at 7 p.m.  Anyone interested, please feel free to attend and join up.
