The Kelowna Mounties need the public’s assistance in locating a stolen ATV that was taken from a Minor Baseball shed sometime Sunday night.

The Kelowna RCMP received a report of a break-in and theft to a shed at Elk’s Stadium, 663 Recreation Avenue,  July 23.

“The shed belonged to Kelowna Minor Baseball and was used to house an ATV specially equipped for grooming baseball diamonds,” said Const. Kris Clark.

“The quad was an army green Suzuki 750 with smooth rear “turf tires” for use on the playing fields. Estimated to be worth over $8,000, the quad had apparently been donated to Minor Baseball to aid their organization and assist the local baseball programs.”

The cost to replace such equipment would likely impact hundreds of developing athletes in Kelowna, and the RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in its return.

Anyone with any information regarding this crime is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.crimestoppers.net to report.
