Kitimat commuters hard hit by the shortage of drivers for public transport vehicles can expect a return to full service on Monday, March 16.
BC Transit, the District of Kitimat and Pacific Western Transportation today announced the return of regular service in the Kitimat transit system which saw a temporary service reduction in late January 2020 on all conventional routes and handyDART services.
Particularly hard-hit were services on Saturdays, with cancellations between Kitimat and Terrace, and Kitimat and Kitamaat Village.
“BC Transit recognizes the impact the temporary service reduction has had on the community. We thank our customers for their patience and support during this time,” said BC Transit in a statement.
In addition to the return of regular service, the scheduled handyDART custom expansion in April will be implemented as planned. Further details on the expansion will be available closer to the date.
