Bella Coola RCMP executed a search warrant at a local residence shortly after midnight on Sunday, Aug. 19.
North District RCMP district advisory Madonna Saunderson said during the search, two firearms, several cartridges of ammunition and other weapons were seized.
RCMP are working with BC Prosecution Services and a report will be submitted for review, Saunderson said, noting a local man could face several Criminal Code Charges.
“It is important that community members be vigilant and report illegal activity, such as people illegally possessing firearms,” said Sergeant Rick Skolrood, Bella Coola RCMP detachment commander “It is through a strong community and information they provide to the police that helps us effectively combat crime and keep our community safe.”

Saunderson said the investigation is ongoing and no further details will be released at this time.
