Nelson-Creston MLA Michelle Mungall will be on tour next week throughout her riding.

Nelson-Creston MLA Michelle Mungall will be mixing up a big batch of iced tea to share as she hears from locals during her annual Bend the MLA’s Ear Tour.

This year’s tour takes place July 5 to 7 and will include stops in 11 communities from the north end of Kootenay Lake to the Creston Valley.

Since its inception in 2009, Mungall has looked forward to the annual tour as a chance to connect with people who live in the more remote regions of the constituency. Mungall extends an open invitation to everyone to visit one of her tour stops and bend her ear.

“Conversations can be on any topic,” says Mungall. “Whatever people want to talk about, whether it’s current community events, the issues I’ve been raising in Victoria, or the summer heat. The tour is a great chance for you to speak to me directly about issues you are concerned about.”

The tour will again feature a children’s colouring contest. Families and kids are invited pick up their entry form at any of the tour stops.

This year the tour includes stops in Crawford Bay, Wynndel, Argenta, Meadow Creek, Balfour, Procter, South Slocan, Ymir, and Salmo a full list of dates and times can be found at michellemungall.ca.

“This tour is a great way to stay connected with the many communities in the region,” says Mungall. “I really enjoy hearing from those I represent and spending time appreciating the beauty of the Kootenays.”
