The Stampede Street Party will no longer be organized by the Williams Lake BIA.
In a letter dated Dec. 29, 2015, informing city council they wished to amend the Fee-for-Service Agreement with the city that stipulated they organize the street party, WLCBIA chairperson Angie Delainey said survey and word-of-mouth feedback from BIA membership indicated the street party is not beneficial to downtown business and property owners.
In a press release issued Thursday, the BIA said it hopes the city will find another group interested in organizing the street party.
City council received the service agreement amendment Tuesday at its regular meeting.
