A huge crowd strolled along Parksville’s Resort Drive Sunday for this year’s Party on the Drive.
Organizer Carrie Powell-Davidson said it was an absolute success.
“We exceeded our goals by doubling our artists and our attendance. We had over 4,200 people attend and the weather and the energy was just phenomenal,” she said.
From photographers to painters and crafters to carvers, all walks of art life were represented at the party.
Several mobile food trucks were stationed throughout the drive and the culinary wizards on wheels delivered some delicious cuisine.
Chef Eric Edwards, who spends much of his time creating mouth watering dishes for Tigh-Na-Mara’s Cedar Dining Room, created an outdoor kitchen and cooked some tasty treats for the hungry crowds that wandered in the sunshine.
Staff from the Grotto Spa provided complimentary chair massages, hand and arm treatments and colourful feather hair extensions.
Music filled the air from one end of the drive to the other and the local talented musicians who performed all afternoon had people dancing in the streets.
The goal of the event was to offer free, fun family events on the properties that make up Parksville’s Resort Drive Community.
