This Saturday’s Sicamous Extravaganza Family Fun Day may be the only Shuswap event to include activities taking place on land, water and in the air.
The July 23 event, hosted by the Sicamous and District Chamber of Commerce, begins at 11 a.m. and runs throughout the day at Beach Park. It includes a sand castle competition and volleyball tournament, yoga paddleboard demonstrations, a bouncy house and obstacle course, a cardboard boat race at 2 p.m. and live music at 6:30 p.m. with local band Shoe Swap.
A beverage garden, food vendors and merchandise booths will also be available at the park for the duration of the event.
During the day, the Siccy Town Flyers are hosting a hang gliding competition that can be viewed from Beach Park.
Later on, those seeking more high-flying thrills can head over to the Sicamous and District Recreation Centre where the Vancouver Circus School will be running two aerial acrobatics shows, one at 4 p.m. and one at 6 p.m.
Tickets for both shows are available at the Sicamous Visitor Centre, Wearabouts and Touch a’ Texas in Salmon Arm and Big Mountain Kitchen and Linen in Revelstoke.
