And they’re off.
More than 50 motorcycle riders and their passengers left the Penticton branch of the Royal Canadian Legion Saturday morning on the first leg of their second annual Toy Run and Poker Derby.
The event is a fundraiser for the South Okanagan Women in Need Society (SOWINS) and during the day will make stops at legion branches in Peachland, Summerland and Okanagan Falls before returning to Penticton.
The morning kicked off with a pancake breakfast at the legion and following the scheduled return around supper time the fun will continue with entertainment, food, silent auction, raffles, door prizes, 50/50 draw, bike judging and trophies.
Toy and donation boxes are being placed at all four legion branches to give other members of the communities an opportunity to contribute.
