Blaney hosting disability tax credit info sessions

NDP MP Rachel Blaney is holding an information seminar on the Canada Revenue Agency’s disability tax credit (DTC) on Wednesday in Campbell River.

‟The disability tax credit can reduce someone’s income tax bill by more than $1,300 per year,” said Blaney. ‟If you haven’t claimed it in the past, you can request a retroactive adjustment as far back as 10 years. This can mean a significant return for some.”

Every year, many eligible Canadians neglect to apply for the DTC, which can offer substantial rebates to people who face difficulties in their daily activities.

‟If you want to know whether you or someone close to you is eligible, you should really attend one of the upcoming seminars,” she said.

The event is taking place at the Campbell River Community Centre on Wednesday, March 15 at 1 p.m.

Blaney will also be hosting a session in Port McNeill at The Old School on Tuesday, March 14 at noon, in Powell River at the Recreation Complex at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 16 and in Courtenay on April 19 at noon at the Filberg Centre.
