The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) is seeking the public’s help in trying to track down a stolen boat and trailer valued at $150,000.

The 2016 Malibu Wakesetter 23SLV boat and red Malibu boat trailer were stolen at about 6 a.m. Sunday from Performance Watersports in the 31800 block of Mercantile Way after thieves cut through a fence.

Sgt. Judy Bird said an alert citizen called police after seeing a white Ford F350 pickup truck towing the trailer eastbound on Highway 1.

Bird said the driver thought it was strange that the boat was still covered in plastic and that it was on the road at this time of year and so early in the morning.

The driver called police, who viewed the man’s dashcam video. Investigators determined that the pickup truck had also been stolen.

None of the vehicles have been recovered.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the APD at 604-859-5225, text 222973 (abbypd) or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
