Hundreds of military personnel will soon be looking for a ride to work.

The Victoria Harbour Ferry Company will be stopping its service route from Colwood to Esquimalt on April 19 at 5 p.m.

“They indicated they were not finding it to be financially viable,” said Capt. Jenn Jackson, CFB Esquimalt base public affairs officer. “These 200 people will need to find a new way to get to work.  Travel to and from work is the individual’s responsibility.”

Jackson lives in Esquimalt and doesn’t use the service, but has spoken to those who do and some are considering cycling or carpooling when the service ends.
