Body found in Kelowna’s Mission Creek

Death not considered suspicious, so coroner is investigating.

RCMP have handed over the investigation of a body found in Mission Creek Park to the B.C. Coroner's office.

The B.C. Coroner’s office is now dealing with the discovery of a body in Kelowna’s Mission Creek Thursday afternoon.

Police turned over the investigation to the coroner after finding the death of the man—found in the water near the Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan in Mission Creek Park around 3 p.m. Thursday—was not suspicious.

The identity of the man has not yet been made public.

During the recovery of the body, a small section of the popular Mission Creek Greenway walking train was temporarily closed.
