UPDATED TUESDAY, AUG. 13, 3:5O P.M.: The body found in Polson Park Monday has been identified as that of a man by the coroners office, and foul play is not suspected in the death.
The case has been turned over to the coroner, who continues to try and identify the man.

Few details are being released on the discovery of a body in Polson Park Monday afternoon.
Vernon RCMP continue to investigate the incident. A Team of investigators and the Forensic Identification Unit working with the Coroners department removed the body Monday evening.
The investigation has determined the body has been deceased for an indeterminable period of time. An autopsy is expected to be completed later today to assist in the determination of the age, sex and potentially the cause of death.
Investigators are making inquiries and following up on reports of missing people.
Anyone with information about the body is asked to call the Vernon RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

RCMP are investigating the discovery of a body in Polson Park.
No identifications have been made as police are currently on scene.
“At this time we have not determined the gender or age of the deceased,” said Gord Molendyk, RCMP spokesperson.
The body was discovered at approximately 2 p.m. Monday, near the creek, by the dirt parking lot closest to the Japanese Gardens.
The area has been sectioned off as the serious crime unit investigates the cause of death. Police are expected to be on scene for many hours.
