Abbotsford Police patrol officers found human remains in a pond on a rural property in the 29700 block of Maclure Road on Christmas Day (Tuesday).
Officers were called to the scene at approximately 1:20 p.m. and located the deceased man shortly thereafter. It does not appear to be a suspicious death at this time.
Abbotsford Police patrol officers, forensic identification members, major crime detectives and BC Coroners Service all attended the scene.
Police said additional information will be available as further forensic work is completed and the investigation progresses.
