A boil water notice spurred by vandalism in Scotch Creek has been rescinded.
The Columbia Shuswap Regional District announced Monday afternoon, Oct. 21, that recent testing by Interior Health has shown water from the Saratoga water system is once again safe to consume.
Saratoga water system users were without water on Oct. 13 as a result of damage that occurred at the reservoir. The following day, the CSRD reported the service had been restored, but the boil water notice was put into effect due to concerns of possible contamination.

“Despite security precautions, the lid was torn off the water reservoir, triggering an alarm. Due to the possibility that the water quality in the system was affected, Interior Health’s medical health officer advised that the system will need to be shut down for an indefinite period of time so it can be completely drained, flushed and refilled,” states a CSRD release.
The CSRD thanks residents for their patience.
