Boy, 11, dies after falling off longboard in Abbotsford

The boy passed away yesterday after the accident on Saturday evening.

An 11-year-old boy has died in hospital following a longboarding accident on Saturday evening in Abbotsford.

Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said the boy was boarding with his cousin and a friend just before 10 p.m. when he fell off his longboard on Bevan Avenue near Cascade Street.

MacDonald said the boy, who was not wearing a helmet, struck his head on the cement when he fell.

The boy was transported to BC Children’s Hospital with a serious head injury, and he passed away on Monday.
