HERE’S THE incidents that kept police busy in the last 24 hours.

Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 23 calls for service from November 28, 8 a.m. till November 29, 8 a.m. During the same time, there were nine people lodged in Terrace Cells, three of these were for public intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

  • a wallet was found in the Skeena Mall. The owner of the wallet was contacted.
  • intoxicated man wandering around the Bear Country Inn checking doors. Police arrested the 65-year-old man for public intoxication.
  • hit and run to a black 1999 Chevrolet Suburban parked on Lakelse Ave.
  • police observed a person staggering down Lakelse Ave. Police arrested the 45-year-old woman for public intoxication.
  • a person was accidently locked into a building on Lazelle Ave. Police attended the location. She had been freed already by an employee.
  • an unruly taxi passenger refusing to pay and refusing to get out of the cab at Tim Horton’s on Lakelse Ave. Police arrested the 70-year-old man for fraud and causing a disturbance.

Elsewhere Terrace

  • a taxi drove three people to an address on Sparks St. The people had no money to pay for the fare and invited the driver inside so a family member would pay. This family member did not exist. One of the people pushed the driver so he would leave. A struggle ensued. The driver had a couple of running shoes thrown at him. The driver locked himself in his cab. The people then threw some knives at the cab. Police involvement was not wanted. No injuries.
  • missing 13-year-old girl. She was not missing as police had just spoken with her and advised the parent of her whereabouts.
  • theft of a red 20″ youth bike on Soucie Ave.
  • police assisted the Ministry of Children and Families with the apprehension of children.
  • an ex-boyfriend attended a residence. No offence committed.
  • theft of a digital camera, digital video camera, DVD player, movies, and iPad from a room at the Rainbow Inn. The owner of the inn directed police to a trailer where a person was seen with the items. An 18-year-old man returned all of the items. Further police involvement was not wanted.
  • two people were observed to enter a unit on Park Ave. These people were thought to be on conditions of no contact. Police conducted checks and no offence was committed.
  • suspicious people on Walsh Ave.
  • a woman was observed walking on the roadway of the new Skeena Bridge. Police noted injuries to her face. The woman had been assaulted by her boyfriend. Police located the 24-year-old man parked on Hwy 16 a short distance away and arrested him for assault. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel. The woman was transproted to Mills Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
  • a man breaking into a residence on Scott Ave. A man had kicked the door in and a person inside of the residence locked himself into a bathroom. On arrival at the location, police observed a man known to them in the front yard. He ran into the house and out the back door. Police pursued the man and located him attempting to hide. He was arrested for break and enter. He resisted arrest and pepper spray was used to subdue him. The 20-year-old man is held for court. Charges of failing to comply with recognizance x 2 ( breaching a curfew condition and not possess or consume non-prescription drugs) and resist arrest are forwarded to Crown Counsel. The person that had locked themself in the bathroom was not cooperative with police.

Thornhill

  • break and enter to a shed on Thornhill St.
  • false 911 call on Muller Ave.
  • familial dispute. Police transported a 49-year-old man to Mills Memorial Hospital to be assessed and then transported him to the wet shelter on Braun St.

Rural

  • a woman did not want a man at her residence on Kroyer St. He left prior to police attendance.
