BREAKING: Santa seen over Surrey

Fleetwood man seems to have caught Santa on camera while taking a video of the moon at 2 a.m. on Christmas

The call came into the Leader newsroom at just before 2 a.m. on Dec. 25, as our reporters and photographers were madly preparing Christmas Day stories.

“Did you get it?” asked the caller, who would not provide his name. He was referring to video he shot over his Fleetwood home moments before.

He emailed us a copy of what he saw.

What he sent seems to show a sleigh, sailing across the moonlit night sky.

The caller said he was shooting the moon when he caught it on tape.

“Then there were those bells, the darn bells” he said. “There’s really no sound like it.”

The RCMP said they had not picked up Santa’s sleigh either on radar or Forward Looking Infra Red (FLIR) technology.

“That said, we’ve never been able to pick up Santa on radar or FLIR,” said on RCMP officer. “He seems to be able to evade those technologies.”

Santa appeared to be heading southwest toward Newton.

We have no further reports of Santa as of yet and will update readers if and when we do.
