Broadmead liquor store targetted in smash and grab

Footage shows the two men put on balaclavas around 11:30 p.m. before kicking and pushing at the front door. The pair gained entry and triggered the alarm, absconding with several bottles of Captain Morgan and Grand Marnier before Saanich police arrived.

Police are looking for two young men caught on surveillance tape Sunday breaking into the liquor store at Broadmead Village.

Footage shows the two men put on balaclavas around 11:30 p.m. before kicking and pushing at the front door. The pair gained entry and triggered the alarm, absconding with several bottles of Captain Morgan and Grand Marnier before Saanich police arrived.

A police dog was deployed but was unable to track the pair.

Both suspects are described as white, in their early- to mid-20s, with short brown hair.

The first man wore a dark ski mask, a dark coloured winter jacket, jeans, black shoes and carried a black backpack.

The second man had on a dark ski mask, black knee-length jeans, a white T-shirt with a red logo on the front and back, and has sleeve tattoos on his left forearm.
