Burns Lake RCMP respond to stabbing

At approximately 8:14 a.m. on Aug. 20, 2011, the Burns Lake RCMP detachment received a report of a stabbing inside a residence on Toh Street.

At approximately 8:14 a.m. on Aug. 20, 2011, the Burns Lake RCMP detachment received a report of a stabbing inside a residence on Toh Street.

Police officers and the B.C. Ambulance service immediately responded to the call. Upon arriving at the scene officers located one adult male inside the residence who had been stabbed in the upper body.

The victim was transported by ambulance to the Lakes District Hospital and subsequently transported to the Prince George Regional Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Police investigation determined the stabbing was the result of a disagreement between to individuals who were residents of the house.

The forensic identification section from Prince George also assisted in the investigation.

Police arrested an adult male at the scene without incident.

Alcohol was a factor in this incident.
