The operator of a school bus that caught fire Monday morning in Abbotsford has been charged under the Motor Vehicle Act.
Charges include having no insurance and failing to complete a pre-vehicle inspection, according to the RCMP’s Fraser Valley Traffic Services.
The bus was filled with 48 farm workers and was heading east on Highway 1 near the Mt. Lehman exit when its engine caught on fire at about 8 a.m.
All the workers were safely evacuated from the vehicle.
