Vernon RCMP believe they have made a dent in the drug trade.

On Thursday, a 54-year-old man was arrested in a parking lot near 35A Street and 40th Avenue while he was in the process of allegedly conducting business with another individual.

A search of a vehicle located numerous individual packages of crack cocaine weighing about five grams, as well as $1,600 in cash and other drug-related paraphernalia.

“These types of investigations are part of the ongoing strategic priorities for the detachment to deter the drug trade and the related crime it creates in our detachment area” said Sgt. Dave Evans, with the RCMP.
