On Tuesday August 2nd, at the regular council meeting, members of council discussed the Geothermal Ground Loop Capacity and the By-Mac Revitalization Project.
The Geothermal Ground Loop Capacity reported an excess load of 10% in the existing system.
“We lost about 30% in the original design,” says Michael Glavin, Chief Administrative Officer.
This 10% exists because of the Leisure Centre’s heating load.
Expansion to the source system was advised in the report if an increase to the load was needed.
This would require additional funding.
“Are grants a possibility?” asked Councillor Anderson.
Glavin replied that the availably of grants is a possibility.
The council has also agreed to begin posting committee positions for the By-Mac Revitalization project.
Council is interested in persons that enjoy outdoor recreation and the By-Mac Park area.
A questionnaire will also be presented to candidates to determine which positions they are most interested in, and best suited for.
“Is the time frame still for this summer for the committee’s existence?” asked Councillor VanBarnevald.
“We would like to have this committee in place by the end of the month.” said Michael Glavin, Chief Administrative Officer.
