The District of Saanich has announced Cadboro Bay Beach is closed until further notice. This closure is due to a number of needles found on the beach that were washed off a boat that came aground during yesterday’s storm.

Saanich staff are on site to locate any further hazards.

Transport Canada has approved the removal of the boat and Saanich staff are assisting in the removal of the vessel.

If you see a needle, please phone the Public Works 24 hour line at 250-475-5599.

Signs are posted in Cadboro/Gyro Park. Updates will be provided through Facebook (Saanich Parks & Recreation), Twitter (@SaanichParksRec) and the Saanich website at saanich.ca.
