A Calgary man’s impressive donuts in the snow at Transfer Beach was not only fun but a way to help his elderly mom so they could go for a walk.
Colin Bush drove down from Alberta for the holidays to visit his mom Rita Spencer, who lives in Ladysmith.
However, last Tuesday heavy snowfall made for not only difficult driving conditions but also tricky footing, especially for someone such as Spencer who is recovering from an operation.
“My 70-year-old mom just had knee surgery and I did slow donuts to clear away some snow so she could get good footing getting out of car,” Bush told the Chronicle.
The donuts weren’t at high speed so there wasn’t a risk of injury or tearing up the parking lot.
“Don’t want it to look like I came here and drove like a banshee on your nice waterfront parking lots,” Bush said jokingly.
The mother and son as well as her border collie all enjoyed the walk.
