The Okanagan Society of Independent Filmmaking (OSIF) is looking for submissions and sponsors for our second annual IndieFest – short film, music video and short doc festival.

OSIF will be taking the best short films, music videos, and short documentaries created locally, showcasing the top filmmaking and acting talent that the Okanagan has to offer at the event April 13.

Last year’s IndieFest was a huge success, with an entirely sold out show that had an audience of 400-plus people, according to organizers.

IndieFest played a dozen locally made films and documentaries last year and this year they are planning to going to have another evening of glitz and glamour with an event showing all that the Okanagan Filmmaking community has to offer.

OSIF Board President, Marc Nadeau has been planning this event as a way to showcase local talent and have an all-ages inclusive event as an alternative to HorrorFest, which had it’s 8th Annual sold out screening this past October.

With the increased film industry shoots coming into the Okanagan, many businesses and individuals are flourishing and thriving, organizers say.

IndieFest is a Film Festival comprised of 100 per cent locally made short films, music videos and documentaries. There will be prizes for the Best Film, Best Doc, Best Music Video, a People’s Choice Award, Best Acting, Best Cinematography, Best Story and Best Post-Production, a Live MC, and more.

If you are a filmmaker looking to submit your film for consideration of playing at IndieFest, please go to www.osif.org/indiefest and fill out the submission form.
