Admitting he was tired, Comox Valley Liberal incumbent Don McRae accepted his victory Tuesday night in a
close battle with NDP challenger Kassandra Dycke.
“We’ve worked so hard in this campaign to identify our vote and get our vote out,” McRae commented, “and I
must say to residents of the Comox Valley, I’m sorry for all the phone calls.”
With 163 of 172 ballot boxes counted in the riding, McRae led the expected two-person race with 10,890
ballots, compared to 9,809 for Dycke. McRae led most of the evening.
Chris Aikman of the Greens had 2,951 votes and Conservative Diane Hoffmann had earned 1,333.
