Canada Day party gets early start in Oak Bay

Fun starts Friday to celebrate Canada Day in Oak Bay

Get a head start on Canada Day celebrations in Oak Bay.

A family-friendly event on the lawn of Oak Bay municipal hall will run from noon to 2 p.m., Friday (June 29).

The annual event is held in advance of July 1 to allow people to participate and celebrate Canada Day in a sense of community, said Mandi Krieger, executive assistant of Oak Bay recreation.

The event includes a free barbecue, entertainment, bouncey castle, face-painting, crafts, and games for kids. Cake is also on the menu.

 

On Sunday (July 1), there will be a Canada-themed swim at

Oak Bay recreation centre, from 1 to 5 p.m.

 

 

Themed games will take place on the deck and in the pool. All ages are welcome and regular admission

applies.
