Thousands of people from across the Fraser Valley enjoyed the festive music and bright lights of the annual Candlelight Parade in Mission on Friday night.

Organized by the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce, the popular event showcases the community and highlights local businesses.

Featuring dozens of floats and performances, the Candlelight Parade is Mission’s only parade and Western Canada’s largest night-time parade. It has been running for 31 years now.

With potential heavy rains holding off, the Dec. 5 parade began at about 7:30 p.m. and proceeded along First Avenue.

Watch the Mission Record newspaper on Friday for more coverage.
