Nelson police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at the city’s limits early Thursday morning.
A black SUV was entering Nelson eastbound when it crossed lanes and collided with a rock embankment near the Highway 3A/6 and Government Road intersection, according to a release by the Nelson Police Department.
The crash, which occurred at approximately 1:10 a.m., closed the highway for several hours.
NPD, RCMP Traffic Services and the B.C. Coroners Service are continuing to investigate the crash. Alcohol has been ruled out as a factor.
