GREIG Ave. in Terrace right behind the Skeena Mall was shut down for three hours late yesterday afternoon and into the early evening after a vehicle struck a pedestrian, report Terrace RCMP.

The car, a blue 2000 Ford Crown Victoria, was travelling eastbound when it crossed four lanes of traffic on Greig and struck the pedestrian who was on the sidewalk shortly before 5 p.m.

The vehlcle then went over the embankment, coming to a stop at the back end of the mall.

“The 22-year-old pedestrian suffered minor injuries. The 20-year-old driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was uninjured,” report Terrace RCMP.

A RCMP traffic analyst and drug recognition experts were part of the investigation, police say.

“As in all investigations, nothing is assumed and everything must be carefully examined,” said Terrace RCMP Constable Angela Rabut.

The vehicle has also been seized and is being inspected.
