Cariboo Fire Centre joins crews in Ontario and Quebec

Firefighters from Cariboo left Monday, more Wednesday

Firefighters from the Cariboo Fire Centre are going to help fight fires in Ontario and Quebec.

“Today we sent two three-person pack crews from the CFC to go to Ontario and on Wednesday we will be sending a 20-unit crew,” provincial fire information officer Kyla Fraser told the Tribune.

The province announced Monday that Ontario will receive 45 firefighters and two agency representatives and Quebec will be loaned 100 firefighters and two agency representatives.

Presently there are no active wildfires of note in the Cariboo Fire Centre.

The Comstock Lake in the Prince George Fire is now listed as Under Control and as of Monday was described as 100 per cent contained.
