Two men have been charged with driving without due care and attention after they drove their vehicles off Clover Point early this morning.
The vehicles were speeding towards the turnaround and failed to stop – or turn in time – propelling the cars over the rocks and down a 12-metres cliff, a witness told police.
When emergency services arrived, they found a 2015 Ford Mustang and a 2014 Infinity Q50 with approximately $70,000 in damage.
Police ruled out impaired driving.
The two 20-year-old drivers, both from Richmond, were issued tickets for driving without due care and attention, which carries a fine of $400 and six demerit points.
