Case Closed: Woman’s ring found

Woman looks for help in finding her mother's lost heirloom.

Diane Massingberd wrote in to the Capital News today to say her ring was found.

“The ring has been found,” said Massingberd.  “Mom was cleaning today and found it under the bed. Although we did look there we never saw it.”

They will be taking it in to get it resized so she can wear it again without worry.

“Thank you everyone that kept their eyes open for us. Am overwhelmed with all the people that shared and cared.”

Original story

An Okanagan woman is hoping to reunite her mother with a lost family heirloom after a shopping trip went awry in Armstrong.

The mother-daughter duo were at Your Dollar Store with More on the weekend trying on gloves. When they returned home they noticed the mother’s ring was missing.

Diane Massingberd says she thinks the ring may have slipped off in one of the gloves and her mother didn’t notice.

“This is a family ring that was given to her years ago from my sister with her birthstone, my brother’s, sister’s and mine,” says Massingberd.

An employee of the Dollar Store at 2485 Pleasant Valley Blvd. says she looked everywhere for the ring, in all the gloves, but was unable to find it.

Massingberd is now hoping the public can help. She is hoping someone shopping at that dollar store, or nearby area, may have seen the ring.

“If anyone gets a pair of gloves for Christmas and finds the ring in one of the fingers, please contact me,” she says. “We would love to have this back.”

The employee from the dollar store says she will continue to search for the ring in case it turns up.
