An envelope containing cash left at a check-out counter at a downtown Vernon grocery store in July remains unclaimed.
An employee of the downtown Safeway attended the police office with a light brown envelope that had benn left at check-out No. 6 around the end of July.
“The employee told police that an unknown person dropped the envelope of cash at about 12:55 p.m. on July 29,” said Vernon RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.
“The small brown envelope has writing in black lettering indicating the amount of cash and what it was to be used for.”
The person who lost the cash did not return to the Safeway to claim it so it has been turned into the police detachment.
The owner of the money can attend the Vernon detachment and claim it once they are able to identify what was written on the envelope.
