The City of Castlegar is close to naming a new manager for the West Kootenay Regional Airport.
Chris Hallam, the city’s director of municipal services, told council Monday that they received more than 50 applicants for the position. About half of those were from overseas, but lots were from Western Canada, he said.
Zoom interviews were conducted with six shortlisted candidates and the city is now deciding between the final two.
The new manager will replace Patrick Gauvreau, who resigned in May. He previously served as the City of Trail’s utilities superintendent.
