The Castlegar Fire Department responded to structure fire on 10th Avenue in Castlegar on Monday after receiving call from a resident who said they had a fire in the wall.
But by the time the firefighters had arrived the homeowner had “knocked the flames down,” according to deputy fire chief Nick Ahlefeld.
Firefighters used a thermal-imaging camera to confirm that there was no longer any fire in the walls.
