The second phase of the Columbia Avenue complete streets project is now underway. The newly affected area is between 15th Street and 17th Street on Columbia Avenue.

The intersection at 15th and Columbia will temporarily become an uncontrolled intersection as crews remove light standards, upgrade the utilities and conduct utility tie-ins.

At any intersection where a yield or stop sign is present, drivers facing the sign must yield the right of way to any other motorist approaching the intersection. If you are at a stop sign you must yield to vehicles and pedestrians and may not proceed until it is safe. You must yield the right of way to any highway construction or maintenance vehicles that have their warning lights in operation.

There will still be construction from 13th to 15th while crews install sidewalks, gutters, tree cells and bike paths.

A water truck will continue to water areas where dust is present both on Columbia Avenue and its side streets. Other trades are now onsite. Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to use caution when travelling this route.
