Cathy McLeod, Member of Parliament for Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo, announced that she will be the Conservative Party’s candidate for the next federal election.
“The 2019 election is right around the corner. Many have asked me to continue my work representing our region and see unfinished business, like the job creating Trans Mountain project, reach the finish line and deliver for our communities,” said McLeod.
“I have the passion, energy and strong support from my family to continue working hard for our region; it has become clear to me that Justin Trudeau has made life harder and less affordable for Canadians. We need an alternative to Trudeau’s ethical scandals and out of control spending.”
She added she’s looking forward to working alongside Conservative leader, Andrew Scheer, and said his positive Conservative message is gaining momentum.
“As Scheer has declared, we have a vision for Canada where taxes are low, government is limited, opportunity is unlimited, freedom is celebrated, and people are put before government.”
