Central Okanagan emergency support volunteers sought

Volunteers needed in Lake Country area

The Regional District of Central Okanagan Emergency Support Services team is looking for volunteers in Lake Country.

“The RDCO Emergency Support Services team relies on volunteers whose aid is invaluable when an emergency arises in the Central Okanagan,” said Carol Fazekas, volunteer coordinator. “ESS provides short-term assistance to those who are forced to leave their homes because of fire, floods, earthquakes or other emergencies.”

Volunteers are privy to mohtly meetings, training and exercises to keep them up-to-date on the required skills.

“By giving of your talents and time, you can help your neighbours begin to recover following a local disaster,” Fazekas said.
