Central Okanagan residents are advised that online website services provided by the regional district will not be available for most of the day on Sunday, April 28.
The regional district says its information services staff are planning to conduct a simulated disaster recovery exercise that day.
According to CORD, it’s anticipated that all online services, including the regional district, FutureOk.ca, Sterile Insect Release Program and Okanagan Basin Water Board websites will not be available between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. that day.
In addition, all regional district phone lines, email and the geographic information systems (GIS) mapping services will be affected.
On Snday, emergency reports of dog attacks should be directed to 250-979-0925 and customers of the RDCO’s six water utilities with emergencies should contact 250-868-5299.
The exercise is being conducted on a weekend to minimize public impact since it coincides with the regular weekend closure of RDCO offices and services.
It’s anticipated all services will be restored late in the afternoon on April 28.
