Ceta Canada/EU trade deal OK’d by Wallonia

The trade deal between Canada and the European Union can finally move ahead as Belgium's Wallonia region gives its OK.

Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel says an agreement had been reached in the Ceta trade deal between the EU and Canada.

The Belgian region of Wallonia had been holding up the entire European Union/Canada trade deal.

The deal, which has taken seven years to negotiate, still has to be approved by the other 27 EU member members.
