Thanks to everyone who attended the meeting with John Les, parliamentary secretary. It was a good turnout. Les was gathering information for the job creation program and input provided should help to identify the needs in our community.
The executive made a presentation to the B.C. Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services in September. The budget consultations provided a good opportunity for us to express our views regarding next year’s provincial budget.
Our Visitor Centre numbers increased in July and August 2011 from 2010 by 1,250 visitors. We are still open seven days and expect a busy fall.
We encourage all residents to use this facility for information when they are planning a trip around the province. We are holding the annual Made in the Cariboo Fair on Saturday, Nov. 26 and space is almost sold out. If you are wanting to book space at the TDC call 250-392-5025. We invite everyone to attend our general meeting luncheon on Sept. 29, from 11:45 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Signal Point Restaurant.
