A Kelowna driver could be facing criminal charges after refusing to give a breath sample to the Agassiz RCMP.

According to an RCMP release, officers heard reports of an alleged impaired driver on Monday, Jan. 21 around 1:30 a.m. The driver was travelling in the 100-block of Esplanade Avenue in Harrison, and was stopped by an officer near Cheam Avenue and Evergreen Drive a short time later.

RCMP say the officer noticed signs of intoxication in the 46-year-old driver, but the driver refused to give a breath sample.

The RCMP will be submitting all circumstances of the investigation to the BC Prosecutors Service for their assessment of charges of impaired driving and refusal to provide a breath sample.
