Police have interviewed a woman behind a racial verbal attack near the Cloverdale Rodeo and have will be recommending charges of assault to Crown Counsel.
The Langley woman, who has since identified herself on television, does not have a previous criminal record, but approached an animal rights protestor at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, shouting racial slurs at her.
The protestor had been holding a sign “Rodeo… where coward boys have fun.”
The Langley woman took offense to the sign and began shouting at the protestor, who began filming the episode for 47 seconds.
The woman also didn’t like the colour of the protester’s skin.
“I like the colour you are because it comes out of my a–,” she says in the video. “Yeah, I am f—ing racist, I am. I will blow your country up…”
The protester filmed the attack, and uploaded it to YouTube.
“I was protesting the cloverdale rodeo may 18/13 and this lady did not like my sign,” she wrote below her video. “She called me racist names, spat on my face, then grabbed me by my hair punched me and kicked me.”
It’s not the first time the protestor has filmed a confrontation and posted it to YouTube.
In one from July, 2012, she appears to be taunting another woman while walking dogs in Mud Bay.
