The new Village of Queen Charlotte website became available online on Nov. 29.The colourful new site is an update, said QC Chief Administrative Officer Peter Weeber, who said the new format means that the village staff will be able to make changes to the site themselves, rather than paying for an off-island company to do it.”It’s still under construction we wanted to get it online and now we’re adding content,” he said. The site also includes new features, like a records management feature, which will have all public records posted on the website and a section for councillors to access remotely.”From the municipal planning side, we wanted to have a more interactive section,” said Mr. Weeber, “on the main page there’s going to be a button that just says ‘Emergency’, if you hit that button it will gave you information you can look at during a crisis, or before for planning information.”The village is also looking to add more photographs to the site, he said, and will be looking from photos from local photographers.
