Chase train death under investigation

The death of a 50-year-old male is under investigation after he was struck by a westbound train, approximately 5 kilometres west of Chase.

The death of a 50-year-old male is under investigation after he was struck by a westbound train, approximately 5 kilometres west of Chase.

At 7:50 a.m., the Chase RCMP Detachment received a report of a fatal collision between a train and a pedestrian approximately 5 kilometres west of Chase.

RCMP, CP Railway Police and the Coroners office attended.  The Investigation indicates that at approximately 7:30 a.m., a 50-year-old Caucasian male was on the tracks when he was struck by a westbound train.

Rail traffic was stopped for approximately three and a half hours for scene examination.  No further information is available at this time.
