Eric Maslen, a Grade 12 student at Chemainus Secondary School, shares his lifelong passion for football with visiting judges at CSS Friday, May 31. Maslen and a dozen CSS classmates discussed their hobbies and passions with the judges in hopes of winning one of 57 $1,000 scholarships available to graduating students at secondary schools in the Cowichan Valley School District. If he's lucky enough to win a scholarship, Maslen said he will use the money to help fund his studies at either the University of Oregon or the University of Washington where he hopes to play for either the Ducks or the Huskies. The results of the competition will be announced the night of Friday, June 21 at CSS's graduation ceremony.
