Do you want to hear from a local scientist on the topic of climate change?
Dr. Carin Bondar has been invited to speak at the Chilliwack-Hope Green Party’s annual general meeting, and the event is open to the public. The title of her talk is “Are tall tales epic fails? Climate Change in the Fraser Valley.”
Bondar is a biologist, author and philosopher, and adjunct professor at the University of the Fraser Valley.
She is author of the books Wild Sex and Wild Moms. She writes and host an online series based on her books, which have garnered over 120,000,000 views. Bondar’s work appears on National Geographic, TED, Animal Planet, Netflix and The Science Channel.
She is an adventurer and explorer, having discovered 11 new species of beetles and snails in the remote jungles of Borneo. Her work at UFV focuses on increasing science literacy in the general public.
Bondar lives in Chilliwack with her four children, two dogs and one cat.
The Green Party AGM is being held on March 4 at the Alumni Hall in the Neighbourhood Learning Centre, Chilliwack Senior Secondary, 46361 Yale Rd.
There will be a half hour meet and greet at 6 p.m. with snacks and hot drinks (bring your own mug). The AGM will last about an hour and Bondar will begin speaking around 7:30 p.m.
